Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con (formerly Comikaze Expo) celebrates the most exciting developments in “geek” pop culture: comics, video games, sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. The convention is attended by 90,000+ fans annually, but Lee and his team knew that many more across the globe were not able to attend and didn’t want them to miss out entirely. Recognizing the transportive power of VR, Stan and his team - a community of early adopters well-versed in VR - asked VPM to create a virtual experience of the convention. The video embedded above is a teaser of the larger, multi-part experience VPM constructed. It was used to create archival pieces so fans could get a taste of the convention experience and also to build a series of immersive advertisements.
